Visitors should be prepared to spend considerable time on foot, and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Glenstone is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Days.

Due to the fragile nature of the artwork, all visitors must be at least 12 years old. Visitors ages 12 to 17 are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Infants under one year are also welcome and do not need a ticket. Strollers may only be used outdoors, and infants must be worn on the body or carried while inside art spaces like the Gallery building. Changing tables are currently available in the Patio restrooms.

Please stay on marked trails and paths. Trails close at 5 p.m. Our last admission for late arrivals is 4:15 p.m. From May 3 to September 28, we will be open until 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Last admission will be at 6:00 p.m.

Picnicking is not permitted at Glenstone.

The sound sculpture, FOREST (for a thousand years…), 2012 by Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller contains loud passages including sounds of explosions and recordings from historical battle reenactments which may be heard throughout the site.

Since visitors seek different levels of engagement and interests vary widely, Guides (in gray uniforms with horizontal bar pins) are stationed throughout the campus to answer questions, discuss ideas, and offer general assistance as needed.
