SandbackExhibiton Hero

American artist Fred Sandback (b. 1943, d. 2003) is best known for immersive installations made from simple, store-bought yarn. By using this material to outline geometric volumes within otherwise empty rooms, Sandback created dynamic perceptual situations and complicated ordinary ways of seeing. Fred Sandback: Light, Space, Facts featured drawings, wooden reliefs, and wire and yarn sculptures from every decade of the artist’s career.
