Visiting Glenstone with an infant under 12 months?
The Basics
Reserve your visit in advance. Timed tickets are required to visit Glenstone Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Admission is always free.
Infants under 12 months do not need a ticket. While Glenstone welcomes visitors ages 12 and up, infants under one year old may accompany an adult.
Plan your visit length. Families with infants often find that 1–2 hours is an ideal visit duration, allowing for a relaxed pace, breaks, and flexibility as needed. We recommend arriving at your reserved entry time to keep your visit smooth and stress-free.
What to Bring
Strollers. Strollers are welcome outdoors on paths and trails; interior gallery spaces are stroller‑free.
Baby carriers. Since strollers are not permitted inside art spaces, baby carriers can be a comfortable way to explore indoor galleries.
Weather‑appropriate attire. Much of the Glenstone experience takes place outdoors. We recommend checking the forecast in advance and dressing infants in weather‑appropriate layers. Sun protection, stroller shades, rain covers, and warm layers can help keep your infant comfortable as conditions change.
Diaper bags. Diaper bags are an exception to Glenstone’s bag policy. We ask that diaper bags be checked into a complimentary locker when entering art spaces in the Gallery and Pavilions buildings.
The Experience
Plan for outdoor exploration. Glenstone spans nearly 300 acres with winding paths and trails designed for unhurried movement. We recommend avoiding the woodland trail when using a stroller, as paths are uneven and include steps.
Enjoy nature as part of your visit. Many families with infants find the outdoor sculptures, water features, and wooded landscapes especially soothing. We invite you to join the guided Nature Walk hosted daily at 1 p.m., which meets at the Pavilions overlook.
Artwork access with infants. Most artworks across the site are accessible when visiting with an infant. For safety reasons, Room 5 is not accessible to infants, as the sculpture extends approximately 16 feet deep and does not have a handrail.
Take a break at the Patio. Located just across from the Gallery, the Patio is an ideal place to pause, enjoy an iced latte or hot tea with light bites, and spend a few relaxing moments outdoors. Changing tables are available in the nearby restrooms.
Feeding is welcome anywhere on site. Bottle‑feeding and breastfeeding are welcome throughout Glenstone. While we do not have a private nursing room, our open‑air environment offers many comfortable places to pause and feed your infant.
Visitor Amenities
Changing tables. Changing tables are available in the Environmental Center, the Patio, and the Pavilions family restroom (near Room 6), all marked on the visitor map. We recommend changing a diaper before arrival, as the nearest changing table is a short walk from the parking lot.
Complimentary lockers and stroller storage. Complimentary lockers and designated stroller parking are available at both the Gallery and the Pavilions, making transitions into interior spaces easier.
Trail guidance. We recommend avoiding the woodland trail when using a stroller, as paths are uneven and include steps. The main paths offer smooth, continuous movement—excellent for stroller napping al fresco.
Complimentary cart service. We offer complimentary cart service between the Arrival Hall parking area and locations near the Gallery and Pavilions buildings, providing added ease when visiting with an infant.
Digital map and navigation. Glenstone offers a digital map with real-time navigation features including time to destination estimates, excellent for locating restrooms, cart stops and buildings.
