In Room 8 of the Pavilions, Glenstone presented the third in a series of rotating exhibitions by Charles Ray (b. 1953). Organized in close collaboration with the artist, the selections spanned the entirety of the artist’s career to date, including early works conceived in the 1970s and a sculpture completed in 2020. This exhibition included abstract and figurative work exploring themes of balance, precarity, and self-portraiture across disparate media—from concrete and steel to handmade paper and aluminum.
